My own experiences are much like others recorded here. Denial of coverage.

Claiming my doctor never submitted a pre-auth request when he had send multiple. Charging more for a 30 day supply of a generic than it costs to get a 90 day supply without using the insurance. Yesterday, I could not even get someone to tell me what my co-pay would be for a certain product. They are pathetic.

I know a doctor who has been on the Board of Directors and worked as a consultant to a number of these insurance companies, including UnitedHealthcare and Optum. He bluntly stated, "Optum is the worst." They are all about maximizing profit and benefits for their management and stockholders.

They care nothing about their clients. Pretty much all of these insurance companies are more concerned about profit than patients, but Optum is the worst.

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

I liked: Nada zero they are beyond despicable.

I didn't like: Not consistant information, Unaccountable.
