My son has type 1 diabetes and his meter broke and he started using another meter the doctor called in a prescription for test stripes for the back up meter to Optum.. 3 days latter nothing from Optum so I called them and their automatic system said that they are processing my order for the tes stripes for the broken meter.

The rep gets on the phone and I tell her I need test stripes for the 2 nod meter and she said I could only get 18 because I have an order for the broken meter test stripes. I told her I didn't order the broken meter ones and I want the other ones and they said that their pharmacist decided that the doctor with a medical degree placed the wrong order and they knew

better than the doctor.

The then lied and said they called my sons doctor twice to confirm the order and they never called. Needless to say my son ran out of test stripes and since he couldn't test his sugar and adjust his pump setting he had some very high readings ( vomiting bad headache, dehydration) they said I could pay for a second prescription after I told them this but I do not have the resources to bar paying for the same fx twice especially since my co pay is 20 to 40 % of the contract r

Reason of review: Order processing issue.

Monetary Loss: $1000.

Preferred solution: Letter of apology needed complaint issued to consumer fraud department.

I didn't like: Lied committed fraud.
