OptumRx (now using "Optum", at least the third name in the last 4 years) buys their medicines from the cheapest company they can find. This means you are getting them from Canada, India, China or some other country you may never have heard of.

Why is this important?

Lets take Canada as an example. Drugs made by American companies must meet the requirements of the FDA. Drugs produced in Canada but being shipped to the U.S. do not have to be inspected or regulated by either Canadian regulations or the FDA! Caveat emptor!

Now consider the other possible origins of your medications. Do you trust India or China? Do you even know where your medications are being made?

Reviewer is in unhappy mood. This person stated that there is a room for improvement of incompetent employees and deceitful. Please immediately contact the author of this review to discuss medications. OptumRx needs to read this review and look into the issue (if any) according to poster's claims.

Other people also mentioned medications in their reviews. You may find this information helpful for further shopping at OptumRx.

The name only changed once. You may need to review the FDA website since you don't know what you're talking about.

All drugs approved in the United States, regardless of where they are made, must be in compliance with the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, which requires that drugs meet manufacturing standards to assure quality and product label requirements. FDA oversees drug manufacturing in several ways.

First, domestic and foreign drug manufacturing plants are routinely inspected for compliance with applicable regulations, including the Current Good Manufacturing Practices.

Second, FDA samples and tests drugs from retail stores, distribution warehouses, and manufacturing sites.

FDA also evaluates complaints from consumers, doctors and nurses, and other reports of drug defects. This information helps FDA identify the need for enforcement action, surveillance activity, educational outreach, new guidance documents, and new regulations.
