Ditto! How does the State of Michigan Public Schools Retiree Prescription benefit plan justify having a Pharmacist dictate what my medications my medical Specialists can prescribe for me?
I feel that the State of Michigan has strategically set retiree prescription co-pays just high enough that us retired teachers can purchase our prescriptions via retail for less. If we try to have a prescription filled by the State's hired gun, Optum RX, it takes days to do so. Retirees and their doctors have to provide sensitive private patient information to this companies employees and this "pharmacist". Our doctors are inundated with paperwork supposedly to justify our prescriptions.
Not one of my prescriptions has ever just been filled when received.
If anything this "benefit" has caused me unnecessary expense and great distress.I have found the State of Michigan retirees prescription coverage to be unusable...definitely not a benefit but a punishment.
